| Hayling Game |
1-1
Although a disappointing result you can’t fault the effort that both sides put into this contest tonight on a pretty poor pitch. That and the cross wind on this very open ground made playing the ball around difficult. As far as Fareham Town are concerned just a bit more guile / composure in and around the penalty area or a lucky bounce would have got the result.
The Hayling folk were content with the result at the end but Hayling did have two clear chances in the second half and felt they could have nicked it. On our part a mere gust of wind would have taken the overhead kick under the cross bar and not firmly against it. You can’t say it was a lick of paint because the cross bar was plastic.
The supporters deserve a pat on the back tonight for their continual vocal efforts to get the win. This extra ordinary at this level of football.
I think the gate was 126, at least 50 % Fareham |

If the figures on Tony Kempster's excellent site are correct Hayling's 2nd biggest ever crowd.
I find myself agreeing with Mr Curtains again. Fair result on a poor pitch. If Tom Chapman's early header had gone in then perhaps it would have been a different result, but in the past we would have lost this one after conceding a silly goal.
Isn't Matt Willsher looking better with every game? 2 great saves late on.
Results elsewhere went our way and we find ourselves upto 4th spot. Let's consolidate and build on that this coming saturday. |

point gained.poor pitch, windy and neither side running out of steam.we started really well and looked dangerous the first fifteen minutes.lost our way a bit and then conceded, but we showed our battling qualities to get back into it.overall a fair result.
